Alongside Jeffrey H. Jacobsen, Jeff founded Jacobsen Orr in 1978 and continues to advise and provide consultation for the firm’s business and estate planning clients.
His work in the area of business included the planning of succession and exit strategies for numerous business owners — including farmers and ranchers — and the buying and selling of corporate assets. Jeff’s estate planning work involved planning estates with extremely large net values. In the real estate field, Jeff represented several real estate firms and was directly involved in the facilitation of many major commercial and residential developments.
During his career, Jeff served as commissioner for the Nebraska Commission of Industrial Relations and judge of the Nebraska Court of Industrial Relations. Locally, Jeff has played a prominent role in groups and organizations working for the betterment of Buffalo County and the Kearney community. He has served as chairman of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and worked as a member of the Buffalo County Economic Development Council. Jeff has also received significant recognition for his involvement with the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Jeff practiced in Kearney since 1967, representing numerous businesses including corporations and other entities. After practicing law as Senior Counsel, choosing to spend time in Nebraska and California while still maintaining exceptional care of his clientele during the past five years, Jeff retired from Jacobsen Orr in July 2018.
