Jeff Orr has practiced in Kearney since 1967, representing numerous businesses including corporations and other entities. Alongside Jeffrey H. Jacobsen, Jeff founded Jacobsen Orr in 1978 and continues to advise and provide consultation for the firm’s business and estate planning clients. His work in the area of business has included the planning of succession and exit strategies for numerous business owners — including farmers and ranchers — and the buying and selling of corporate assets. Jeff’s estate planning work has involved planning estates with extremely large net values. In the real estate field, Jeff has represented several real estate firms and has been directly involved in the facilitation of many major commercial and residential developments.
In the past, Jeff served as commissioner for the Nebraska Commission of Industrial Relations and judge of the Nebraska Court of Industrial Relations. Locally, Jeff has played a prominent role in groups and organizations working for the betterment of Buffalo County and the Kearney community. He has served as chairman of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and worked as a member of the Buffalo County Economic Development Council. Jeff has also received significant recognition for his involvement with the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Jeff continues to enjoy the practice of law as Senior Counsel, choosing to spend time in Nebraska and California while still maintaining exceptional care of his clientele.
