Posted on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 12:44 PM by Jacobsen Orr

On February 28, 2018, Jacobsen Orr sponsored a Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day for high school students interested in the practice of law, law enforcement, and other related fields.  Two attorneys from Jacobsen Orr, Ryan Carson and Liz Chrisp, planned the event.

Junior Achievement is an organization that is dedicated to giving students the knowledge and skills they need to plan for the future.  Reaching students from K – 12, community volunteers teach student about how they can make smart academic and economic choices.  Ryan Carson serves on Junior Achievement’s Board of Directors and volunteers his time teaching the program at Gibbon Public Schools.

Throughout the day, the students were allowed to observe court proceedings, speak with Buffalo County Court Judge, John Rademacher, tour the Buffalo County jail, and ask various attorneys across different practice areas questions about their work.  After the event, Liz Chrisp stated, “I think the students had a great time.  The students asked very insightful questions and hopefully gained important knowledge about our profession that will be helpful in making decisions after graduation.”
